WWW.AZCHORDS.COM | Cake - Jolene Bass | Ver. 1
This song was originally tabbed and posted by Philippe Girolami
some things I heard differently. I also went just a little more
in-depth where I could. This is a great song with an awesome
groove you can really get funky with.

Improv with the ending of the second phrase of that pattern
throughout the song. Listen to the song to hear where it gets
a little quieter and more subdued at around 2:30 or so.
Then, during the second part of the guitar solo, comes this
3:52
G|-----|-----|-----|---4---4---|
D|-----|-----|-----|-6---6---4-|
A|-----|-----|-----|-----------|
E|-4\0-|-4\0-|-4\0-|-----------|
4:06
G|--------------------|
D|----6p4-----3\1-3/4-| X8
A|--------------------|
E|4-4-----4-4---------|
At 4:26, he just plays the G# (fourth fret, E string) till about
4:45, then I can't really hear what he's doing. Eventually he
starts doing a climb that I can't get right. If anyone knows that,
please post it. Also, if there are any errors, please post any
corrections you may have. I'm not certain about some of the parts.
This is Philippe Girolami's take on that last part:
G|------------------| The point being to play string E repetitively
D|------------------| and going from fret 4 to fret 16...
A|------------------|
E|-444/666/99/12/16-|
